TOP DOWN BABY CARDIGAN PATTERN

You will be working from the neck down, this photo shows the markers in place.
2nd photo is where you need to cast on for the neck shaping.
3rd photo, I have taken my markers out as I have knitted many of these, but if you are new to this way leave your markers in place.
And we have finished the sleeve top and are working on the body, again knitted in one piece. I think this is a great way of knitting baby items as there are no seams, so not bulky for baby.
This pattern will be available free on Ravelry once I write it up.

Sweater or Pullover

Now I don't know when I'll finish it as this is going to be my biggish project when I need thicker needles in my hands.
I decided it was time to knit a wee jumper for my 7 year old so I dug this shade of Rio De La Plata Wool out and here is the front piece just at the arms.
I love the way this stripe looks.
More colours will be available via my website

JUST A FEW HARRIS TWEED BAGS

I've had this Harris Tweed cut for months and just got round to sewing it in the last couple of days, Being at the sewing machine was awful painful but I was getting tired knitting all the time. So these 2 blue Harris Tweed Bags will go into my website and get stashed in the drawers in the workshop.
And the grey check Harris Tweed was given to me by a friend who wanted me to make up this casual shoulder bag for her

And she also gave me this purple check Harris Tweed to make another casual shoulder bag.
She has waited a long time for them so I hope she will be pleased.

HAND KNITTED BEANIE HAT & SOCKS SET

Pain in back quite bad since the injection, thought it would have got better but still hoping, Not much getting done apart from knitting, walking around the house then knitting again, I did manage to get the 2 beanie hats knitted, merino wool dyed by me, and also the socks to match.
Just a shame there was no more wool left to make a matching pair of socks for the green/blue mix.
Knitting certainly takes your mind off pain......that's my excuse.

SOCK BLOCKERS IN THE UK

Here is where I got mine and I highly recommend them. I actually just ordered the extra small and large size as I have got baby ones and the medium size, then I'll have all sizes I need.
Great price as well considering what other blockers cost.
Drop them an email and tell them I sent you....

STEPPING STONES SOCK PATTERN LARGE SIZE

I had to show you the adult size, using the same pattern, Again I used my Seascape Handdyed Sock Yarn, and this larger used up approx 80g so if you wanted a longer sock/foot then it would work OK with the 100g skein.

Another close up of the Work in Progress, I'm using my Hiya-Hiya DPNS, I would not be without them now.
And with the smaller sock that I knitted.
Finished 2 sizes, now all I need to work on is the 2nd size so I think if the pain is bearable in my spine I will get on with that one tonight. I will sit and cast on just now, and I remembered to write every little detail..
This is it on it's own, I'm going to knit the other one for this pair once I get the 2nd size knitted up, So far so good, and I like the way the colours are working out for me.
Looking forward to your comments.
Again the pattern will be in PDF form and available from next week on my website.

It will be available to buy via http://www.calanacrafts.co.uk and in PDF form. This will have 3 sizes.
Here is the 2nd sock, work in progress

Happy Bunny

Oh I'm so happy........I finally gave in and phoned my pain Dr yesterday who agreed to giving me another spinal injection for pain relief, Here's hoping that I will feel the benefit in a few days......

MY NEW SOCK DESIGN FOR WEE GIRLS

I cast on last night, of course using my Seascape Hand Dyed Sock Yarn, and I have written the pattern, I'm just hoping to finish it this evening and get it tested. I am writing for 3 sizes so fingers crossed it will all work out. I have my sockblockers waiting for this one then I shall get a "proper" photo taken.
I like the way it's turning out.
Now time for destashing~SOCK YARNS
Meantime I have gone through my shelves and came across more balled sock yarn inc Opal, Regia and Lana Grossa and have listed them on ebay as I will never get a chance to use them, so have a look, grab yourself a wee bargain.

AND MORE HOLIDAY KNITTING

How about sock key rings, I think they are so cute and not wanting to waste any of my sock yarn I knitted these up.
And a close up although they are quite bright.

And a pair of baby boots, again in my hand dyed sock yarn machine washable.
and to use up the remaining yarn from the baby cardigan I knitted these cute socks to go as a set.
the back seems to be easing off a wee bit, at least it's not as bad as last week shall we say bearable.
And now for my New Year's decision= this last couple of weeks have been bad, not being able to cope with my pain and depending on others, and I have decided that this year I will not be helping to organise the local craft fairs. I am thinking of my health, my back as It is does not look like I will be able to get another spinal pain relief injection.

HOLIDAY KNITTING

After an awful 2 weeks of back pain I did manage to get some knitting done,
I finished the baby cardigan knitted from the top down with the bands knitted after the main piece was knitted, Again this was my own design, and no I never wrote it down. Must try and do with the next one. I dyed the yarn myself, seascape sock yarn 75 Wool/25 Nylon blend and dyed using landscape dyes. just to add the buttons now.
Then I started using up my single skeins of pure wool that I got from Uruguay, first pair of hand knitted wrist warmers in a denim kind of shade.
2nd Pair was in a pale blue with hints of pink pure wool, handspun but was knitted in stocking stitch, think I'll keep to the ribbed next time.
3rd Pair was in this gorgeous purple, again ribbed and my own design. these were all knitted on 4.5mm needles and I used my HiyaHiya needles. Oh so smooth.
then I used up more of the yarns I had lurking and knitted up this curly wurly scarf, This one really is warm. I cast on 120 stitches to begin with and worked on 10mm needles with 2 strands of aran weight yarn, increased on every 3rd row and worked a further 3 rows before casting off, I think I did 2 increases but did not count the stitches. I used my addi circulars for this one.
All this will now go on my website, hopefully this weekend.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

WISHING ALL MY READERS A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2010. STAY SAFE.
