You Too Could have a Man Like This

Yes, you could, and No he's not mine. He is just wanting brownie points as he bought some recycled sari silk yarn for his partner, and we were rewinding the hanks. Sorry about the photo but we were laughing too much. Before anyone asks **** is a cousin of ours, that's why we let him in....
I'd love to know how many points he gets when he get's back home......

Hand Knitted Baby Socks

And I finished these hand knitted baby socks today, I am having a chilling out weekend, where all I'm doing is knitting. Very relaxing, great to see the finished socks. This size is 3-9months. again knitted to my own pattern.

Finished My Recycled Sari Silk Bag

I finished this yesterday afternoon, I used 200g of Recycled Sari Silk that I bought from Nepal, and used 100g of handdyed merino wool with it to make a firmer bag, The bag is knitted in the round and the handle is worked after you cast off the main part of the body if this makes sense. Now for the finale, I finished this bag off with red polycotton lining and added a magnetic button as a closure.

And more Baby Socks

Ok I do need to have socks on my needles for therapy knitting, This has got bamboo in it and it is so soft, every one that sees it keeps petting it, so I'm thinking of charging!! Love the colours, Think I will have to knit a wee baby hat to go with it. This is size 3-9months.

Lovely Surprise on Wed

This is what I'm playing with today...... But on Wed after getting back from the local hospital after some much needed pain relief in my spine this is what I came home to, a gorgeous selection of recycled sari silk from Nepal. I just love the colours in this bundle, Already on the needles as you can see.
I'm knitting another bag, not sure how its going to look as I am just designing as I go.

More Baby Hats & Socks

Another hand knitted baby hat & sock set to fit 0-3month baby, I just could not resist this shade. And they are so quick to knit up. I'm using my own pattern,

More Harris Tweed Zipped Purses

Remember the purse pattern I bought from here
http://www.djstoreroom.artfire.com/ It's just fab, 3 sizes and no waste, I managed to get more done, I keep checking back to see what else she has got in the way of patterns, and I think I'll go for the wrist purse next....
All these were made with odd bits of Harris Tweed that I would otherwise have sold as a job lot but now the patterns do not take up too much fabric so I get purses out of it.

CALANA CRAFTS SEASCAPE SOCK YARN

I've been dyeing more wool this past week inbetween pain bouts, and finally managed to get them rehanked and listed on ebay, pop along if you want to go and buy, I will end the listing to the first bidder if I catch it in time. This is where you'll get my listings, also listing some Harris Wool at bargain prices.
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/myblueroof
I used landscape dyes for the dyeing and have just looked at Linda's website and she has now got the full range in along with 4 new colours so I shall probably buy more later this week.
you'll find her here and she will accept Paypal payments if you email her about it.

Got my Zips Here

Out of 100 zips in the pack there is only 3 that were marked and cannot use, so I am delighted with the pack, really good colours and sizes.I did look on ebay for a job lot and came across this seller, very helpful, will buy from again I'm sure.

MORE ZIPPED HARRIS TWEED PURSES

I did these after mastering the zips, quite pleased especially since I sold 3 of them at the craft fair yesterday. Using Harris tweed of course, Going to try and make another couple today if pain stays away.
So delighted to have come across the webstore that was selling the pattern for the purse.

FINALLY! MY HARRIS TWEED COIN PURSE

I can't believe it! I finally managed to make this wee zipped purse after trying to follow a pattern to sew one, It was going against me, and through one of my followers I came across this website http://www.djstoreroom.artfire.com there was a PDF Tutorial which I bought today, and had to see if I could do it, This is the finished piece, I am so chuffed, a big thank you to the seller. the seller also gives permission if I want to sell the pieces I sew so these small Harris Tweed coin purses will be at our craft market on Friday 10th at the Harris Hotel in Tarbert. I have never been able to follow a sewing pattern but I am now going back to see if this seller has any more designs.. This pattern has been so easy.

Hand knitted Baby Hat & Socks

I was just playing around again, knitted this set and now it's gone.
These are the first 2 purses I made, My wee girl nabbed them.

Felt Bag and Nisabost Beach

I finished the felt bag on Friday, managed to felt and block it over the weekend and now thinking I should perhaps line it and give it a button or popper to fasten it.
I have some Amy Butler fabric I could use. We don't have to go far to get to the beach, this one about 25mins away called Nisabost, we were there yesterday and spent about 3 hours there. It was getting busy with holiday makers as we did not see any locals. maybe it was too early for them.
Absolutely beautiful although breezy, but warm. The sand is so clean.

PURPLE FELT BAG

something in the making? I started this at our Craft Fair on Tuesday, and have finished adding the beads, I am now thining I should have cast on more stitches but we shall see how it works out, this one will not be going in the washing machine to felt as it would shrink too much so I am going to play around with it. I need to get more beads so think I shall be looking onto Earth Farie later tonight...
Should be finished tonight, that's if Nina will be ale to finish her sock on her own. As I am teaching her at our knitter's group. She has the patience of a saint.....

Well which pair of needles are we going to mention? lolI had begun to make myself a burgundy kind of pullovery tabbard kind of thing. With a V neck and the sqauares et on the pointy edge? I sketched the idea and have yet to prove it will work...watch this space lol, then it got abit warmer so its on hold for colder weather.I also have a scrumbly crochet 'thing' growing as the whim takes me, but have yet to decide if this is going to form a bag or be a wallhung wonder....I have knitted up a huge bag and am waiting to machine wash it so it will frimly felt up. I am half way through knitting a super long Icord which I hope to swag round the sides and then use it as handles.......again, I sketched the design out and am winging the shape and style.I love working that way and though I buy loads of patterns, I rarely hold strictly to them, they tend to evolve into a similar version of what was intended by the craftsperson who devised them. Thanks for the lighthouse pic link by the way........wonderful skill being able to produce photos like that!Stay well........Lyn
